Tajima House Museum of Silk Culture
The former Tajima residence (a gassho style house) is dedicated to reviving the traditional silk farming industry that has seen an almost complete decline within Shirakawa Village. It is the only structure in the village focusing on sericulture.
The museum exhibits items and information relating to the history of sericulture in Shirakawa village, and also screens culturally valuable videos detailing the relocation of the former Tajima residence. The museum is also available for school trips and educational visits.
